Glenn van Straalen will ride for the EAB Racing Team for the remaining races of the 2021 World Supersport season. This weekend the 20-year old will ride the Yamaha R6 during the races at the Jerez circuit. This means Glenn can’t participate with NIWA Racing during the IDM season finale at the Hockheimring.
Last weekend Glenn van Straalen made his comeback in World Supersport with the EAB Racing Team. The world championship round at the Catalunya circuit went very well for the Dutch combination, because two top-ten results were scored in this strong field. Glenn now gets the chance to finish the World Supersport season with the EAB Racing Team. Next weekend the team will race again at the Jerez circuit in Spain and a week later at the Portuguese circuit of Portimão. There are two more rounds scheduled outside Europe at the end of the season.
Glenn van Straalen: “I want to thank NIWA Racing for respecting my decision to continue with EAB Racing Team in World Supersport. I am very grateful that they give me this opportunity. We might lose the third place in the IDM, but I have the chance to show myself a few more times on a world stage level! The feeling with the bike in Catalunya was very good with two top-ten finishes and I would like to continue these kind of results. Thanks to EAB Racing Team, NIWA Racing and my personal sponsors for this opportunity!”
Ferry Schoenmakers (Team Manager EAB Racing Team): “I’m happy to announce that we will finish the 2021 season with Glenn. With two top-ten results, Glenn showed himself very well during the Catalunya round. He deserves to ride the remaining races for us, starting this weekend in Jerez. It’s also great to have a Dutch rider back on the bike in our Dutch team.”
