EAB Ten Kate Racing ready for first World Supersport race of 2020
With only a couple of days to go before the 2020 World Supersport season kicks off, EAB Ten Kate Racing is ready to start as Steven Odendaal ended the last winter test of this year in a strong seventh place. Despite a heavy crash in the morning session in turn 2, a notorious turn at Phillip Island where many riders have crashed in the past. Even with this crash, his fastest time came in the opening session of the second day of testing at Phillip Island, aboard his Ten Kate Racing Yamaha YZF-R6.
Steven Odendaal:
‘I’m not happy with the final result, but we’ve got a lot of data to analyse so we can come back much stronger on the race weekend. I’m happy that we have this test at Phillip Island as it helps us to improve and gave me a better feeling with the bike as well. I’m really looking forward to Friday and even more to the race on Sunday.’
EAB Ten Kate Racing team manager Kervin Bos:
‘We can be proud of our achievements here at Phillip Island, but we expected Steven to be just a little bit faster at the end of the final 2020 winter test. A nasty crash in turn 2, a big highsider, certainly didn’t helped us today. Fortunately Steven did not pick up an injury! After that crash he struggled a bit for a while, but he ended the test still on a high. There a five very fast riders in this year’s World Supersport championship and Steven is one of them so we can’t wait to start the season.’
