Double top 10 for Glenn van Straalen and EAB Racing Team at San Juan in Argentina

EAB Racing Team rider Glenn van Straalen has scored a wonderful P8 and P9 at the Argentina round of the WorldSSP 2021 season at Circuito San Juan Villicum. It was the first overseas WorldSBK event after a long time due to the covid pandemic and it turned out to be a weekend to remember for EAB Racing Team and Glenn after challenging rounds at Jerez and Portimao.

After a sandstorm on Thursday, track conditions were very treacherous on Friday, but Glenn did a wonderful job as he ended the first day of practice in a very strong P6 aboard his EAB Racing Team Yamaha YZF-R6.

Glenn had to start from P15 after a difficult Superpole session on Saturday but still was able to score an impressive top 10 finish as he ended Race 1 in P9 after a very strong recovery from the fifth row of the Circuito San Juan Villicum grid.

The first lap of the Sunday race was hectic with an early crash for two riders in the first corner. Glenn managed to stay out of trouble and was in the top 10 again, before he ended in a real ding-dong battle with a couple of other riders for P7. After 19 hectic laps, Glenn ended the penultimate race weekend of 2021 in an impressive P8.

Glenn: ‘I was able to gain a few places in the first few laps on Saturday and after that I had the same pace as Friday, so I was happy with P9. The feeling with the R6 was good as well so I was really looking forward to Race 2. Today I scored my best result in World Supersport! However, I had the feeling that we could do a little bit more. I had a great feeling with the bike but I got a bit stuck in the group fighting for P7, so I couldn’t quite find my own pace. Overall we had a very good weekend in Argentina!’
