EAB Racing Team completed a challenging race weekend from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September during the Italian Round at Cremona Circuit. For Simon Jespersen and the team, the desired results did not come this time, despite making progress with the setup of the Ducati Panigale V2 throughout the weekend.
On Friday, Jespersen qualified fifteenth for the races. With only eight tenths separating him from the fastest time, the field was once again extremely close, but the team had not yet found the right setup. Several changes were therefore made ahead of Saturday morning’s Warm Up, which immediately had a positive effect on the feeling with the bike.
Race 1 then proved unfortunate. Jespersen crashed, but a red flag gave the team the opportunity to repair the Ducati in time for the restart. Shortly after the restart, however, Simon was forced to stop the bike due to a technical issue, bringing his race to an early end.
A stronger result also remained out of reach on Sunday. In Race 2, Jespersen crossed the finish line in twentieth position. This brought a difficult weekend to a close, with the team unable to achieve the results it had hoped for beforehand.
Pjotr Groenenberg (Team Manager): “It simply wasn’t an easy weekend for us. We tried several different things throughout the weekend and saw a clear improvement in Warm Up. Unfortunately, we were not able to turn that into the result we had hoped for in the races. We will now analyse where we can improve and fully focus on Estoril.”
Simon Jespersen: “It was a difficult weekend and definitely not the results we were hoping for. We made some progress with the bike during the weekend, but unfortunately we couldn’t turn that into the results we wanted. We’ll take what we learned from Cremona and focus on doing better in Estoril
EAB Racing Team now shifts its full focus to the next round of the FIM Supersport World Championship. From Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October, the Tissot Estoril Round will take place at Circuito Estoril in Portugal. It will be the penultimate round of the 2026 season.
